Make A Difference Day
On Saturday, October 23rd, 2004, the USS
Endeavour partnered with The Anderson Federation of Teachers to make a
difference at a variety of organizations in Madison County. We volunteered
to do everything from wash windows at the homes of the elderly to completing a
variety of tasks at the Second Harvest Food Bank, and Wilson Boys and Girls Club
of Anderson.
Many members worked hard at the Boys club, but I must mention Lisa, Sierra, and
Lexi Wehmanen, Cyndi and Misty Jackson and Samantha Smith played the major role
in bagging 40,000 pounds of potatoes for distribution to the needy.
Needless to say, the Endeavour made a difference in the community. But
more importantly, it made a difference in us. We worked hard, had fun, and
met a lot of new people. It is hard to describe the feeling of satisfaction and
accomplishment we took home that night.
